For families with children ages birth through kindergarten

Want to learn tips and ideas on how to teach your child how to appreciate, notice and explore all that nature has to offer in the great outdoors? Join the staff from the NC Museum of Natural Sciences at the Prairie Ridge Ecostation for a gentle hike and discussion of ways to introduce young children to the natural world. We'll focus on the benefits of nature play and the common concerns of parents such as poison ivy, bees and wasps.

Please Note: This is an "Adults Only" workshop that occurs outdoors at Prairie Ridge EcoStation (1617 Gold Star Drive, Raleigh, NC 27607). Dress for the excursion by wearing long pants, hat and closed-toed shoes.
