Ready-to-Learn Centers

Ready to Learn Centers are currently located in seven elementary schools in Wake County and operate in accordance with the Wake County Public School System's established calendar at each school. Five of the programs operate on a traditional school calendar. The center at Jones Dairy operates on the year round schedule - Track 4 and Carver operates on a modified year round schedule. This fall we will be adding new centers and will be posting that information as soon as the classrooms are set up and ready for enrollment.

Please note that the Wake County Public School System Inclement Weather Plan also pertains to each center.

Each Ready To Learn Center provides high quality, developmentally appropriate, early childhood learning experiences through a supportive and cooperative partnership between families and early childhood professionals.

The goals of the program are to encourage the healthy development and educational success of all children and to increase the capacity of families to serve as the primary nurturers, teachers and advocates for their children.  We achieve these goals by offering the following: Creative Play groups, Music and Movement, Getting Ready for Kindergarten activities, developmental screenings, parent education, referrals to community programs and agencies. Each center offers a variety of programs for different age groups.

For more information about programs available at each center choose a tab to the left. Classes are listed by title and age group. Please contact the center directly to enroll your child in one of the sessions.
